Your work

Made in Lesson Studio.
Yours beyond it.

Lesson Studio is a tool, not a place that locks your teaching away. Keep complete copies of your Library, export individual work in familiar formats, and share lessons that open without the Lesson Studio editor.

01

No account required

Create and teach without putting your Library into a hosted Lesson Studio account.

02

Files you control

Save a complete Library file wherever you choose. Copy it, rename it and keep your own backups.

03

Useful outside the studio

Download individual work in formats made for browsers, office software, code editors and other tools.

Open formats

Take the useful part with you.

Different work needs different kinds of portability. Lesson Studio exports the result in a format suited to what you want to do next.

Notes

.docx .tex .md

Continue editing in Word, keep mathematical source in LaTeX, or take the simplest version as Markdown.

Code

.js .py

Sketches leave as ordinary p5.js source and Python work leaves as a Python file, ready for a code editor or another compatible environment.

Sheets and flashcards

.xlsx .csv

Open spreadsheets in Excel and other spreadsheet apps. Move flashcard questions and answers as a simple CSV table.

GeoScript diagrams

.svg .txt

Export the finished diagram as SVG. You can also keep the GeoScript source as text, but GeoScript is a Lesson Studio language and needs Lesson Studio to edit or render it.

Web extracts and chats

.txt

Keep saved web text with its original address, or download an AI conversation in reading order as plain text.

A lesson you can keep

The finished lesson does not need the editor.

An exported lesson is a standalone HTML file. Keep it on your computer, copy it to another drive, put it on your own website, or send it directly to learners. It opens in a browser without a Lesson Studio account and without returning to the Lesson Studio editor.

One honest limit: material that points to another website, such as a link or externally hosted media, still depends on that publisher and may need an internet connection. The lesson file itself remains yours.

Full-fidelity files

Some files belong to Lesson Studio.

Open formats are best for using work elsewhere. Lesson Studio’s own formats are best for keeping the complete structure and editing behaviour intact. That distinction keeps the promise honest.

.library.json

Your complete Library

This is the durable save for the whole working Library, including editable Lesson Studio content and its relationships. It is readable JSON, but it is designed to be reopened in Lesson Studio rather than used as a general interchange format.

.lsc

A published course

This keeps a collection of lessons together for Lesson Space. It is portable as a file and can be hosted wherever you choose, but Lesson Space is the viewer that understands the course structure.

GeoScript

Editable diagram source

The source is yours and can be saved as text. Its commands are specific to Lesson Studio, so export SVG when you need a diagram that other design, office or publishing software can use.

Save it deliberately

Browser recovery helps.
Your own file is the backup.

Lesson Studio keeps working and recovery data in your browser, but browser storage is not permanent. Save your Library file and keep independent copies of anything important.
